Gods and Gladiators

We have been investigating the myth of Romulus and Remus.

Can you retell it using these pictures to help you?

Spellings for the Week!

Your child will be bringing their spelling book home each week so you can see their scores from their last spelling test. Please can these little pink books be returned to school every Monday.

This week's spellings:

5 pattern words: serious, nervous, joyous, enormous, hideous

5 topic words: Isca, fortress, drill, army, barracks

Remember to write at least 3 sentences using your spellings.

This week: can you use adjectives to add interest and detail to your sentences?

For example:

"That's incorrect," said the snooty witch, "I only use fresh bat wings for my spells."

The witch was displeased with the tasteless, sparkly hats for sale.

Remember: any speech marks just go around the words that are actually spoken.

Challenge yourself by extending your sentences. Try to use some of these words:

Change of direction words:

but, however, on the other hand, although, despite

Cause and effect words:

because, so, so that, therefore

Addition words:

also, in addition, furthermore, additionally, moreover
